Nestled in Uttarakhand’s Kumaon region, renowned for its scenic beauty but marked by inaccessibility, erratic terrain, and limited livelihood opportunities, Aarohi’s health
Initiatives aim to address the stark disparity in healthcare access for mountain communities. Despite government efforts, the healthcare landscape in these regions presents unique challenges that require community-rooted, context-specific interventions. The foundation of Aarohi’s health program rests on two core components: curative care, viz. Aarohi Arogya Kendra Hospital & AMRIT Clinic and the community health programme. These two components are bridged through the Mobile Medical Unit.
To strengthen rural health systems, Aarohi uses the WHO’s continuum of care, anchoring our services in four essential pillars of Accessibility, Affordability, Availability, and Quality of healthcare. Our interventions span the entire continuum of primary care, with essential secondary care services, particularly focused on Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health and Nutrition
