Introduction
Launched in 2012 in memory of Hari Krishna Trivedi, the HKT Project is a long-term initiative in Almora district that integrates health, education, livelihoods, and natural resource management across 23 villages. It demonstrates how holistic rural development can transform entire communities.
Meaning & Importance
HKT addresses multiple needs at once — from maternal health to adolescent awareness, scholarships for girls to forest restoration. By weaving together interventions, it ensures that villages do not just survive but steadily progress towards self-reliance and dignity.
Highlights Of The Year
- 89 people treated through MMU camps, including 20 pregnant women.
- 350 adolescents reached with sessions on nutrition, reproductive health, and mental health.
- 2 Activity Centres in Supai providing computer literacy, life skills, and counseling.
- 9,000 saplings planted across 21 villages, covering 485 hectares.
- Women’s Day celebrations with 54 women; cleanliness drives in 13 villages.
